3D Printed Full Color Lithophane

It’s been a while, but I’ve been busy – so busy that I’ve started a new business, Custom Made Fast. Check it out online or on Etsy, or visit one of the (3!) conventions we’ll be at by the end of the year: https://custommadefast.com.

As a preview of all the cool things we can make, here’s a 3D printed lithophane (of one of the greatest movies of all time) made using cyan, magenta, yellow, and white filaments in fine layers.

This one went a bit too heavy on the contrast, but expect more vibrant previews in the future!

(Also, I swear I have more Armada content on the way, but unfortunately Armada ideas don’t pay very well. Unless if Atomic Mass Games reads this and wants me to take over. If so, let me know.)

The Rock People

The Rock People

Long posts suck – it’s like looking for a cooking recipe and having to get through the author’s whole life story before seeing the ingredients list. With that in mind I’ll keep this post short.

I own a few 3D printers, and love them oh so much. One benefit is I get to print little minis, and below I’ll share a quirky set that I printed, painted, and am looking for a chance to use them in something, maybe as my own little version of Ewoks in a D&D campaign.

I didn’t create the models, though 3D modeling is something I’d like to get into. All of these were printed with my heavily modified workhorse, an Ender 3. You can see layer lines from this printer which is mostly inevitable unless I wanted to sand all of the little nooks and crannies (I didn’t).

All of the paint is the cheap kind you can find at Target or Walmart, with the exception of three Games Workshop paints you can see for the gemstones. Those technical paints are just really fun to use, and certainly help things stand out.

Enjoy!

An Apocalypse Project – Fallout Bottle Caps

An Apocalypse Project – Fallout Bottle Caps

Today we’ll take a quick look at a side-project that’s been sitting on my shelf for a couple of years now: making prop replicas of bottle caps from the Fallout video game series.

In all of these, I have created the bottle caps using in-game art where available, otherwise by using designs made from scratch. I do sell these to collectors and cosplayers, so if you want to buy some, reach out!
